The desk job workout

More and more people are working in an office environment.

We go to work, sit down all day. We finish work, drive home (sat down) and then watch tv (again, sat down), all the while we say we're exhausted. And we probably are, mentally exhausted. At the core of our DNA, we're not designed for sit down desk jobs. We're supposed to be out there, running about in the elements hunting for our next meal and building a shelter for the night before moving on the next day.

Being sat down and sedentary for most of the week is affecting us as a society. More and more of us are overweight, with poor mobility and poor posture (or some combination of the three)

Now, we cant all afford, or be bothered, going to the gym. Because we're tired. Exhausted even. But we're not. We're just conditioned to not moving.

So here's a short 30 minute circuit to get us moving, work our muscles, get our blood pumping and our hearts beating. You'll need no specialist equipment, just a set of resistance bands that can be found on here amazon for only a few quid (that's pounds for anyone who doesn't know) and a skipping rope,

Three sets of three, one minute rounds:

Set 1 x3

1 min max squats,

1 min max press-ups,

1 min max sit-ups

90 second rest

Set 2 x3

1 min Max Resistance band pull apart's

1 min Plank

1 min Max Lunges

90 second rest

Set 3 x3

1 min max mountain climbers

1 min jump rope

1 min knees up running on the spot

With this you're hitting most muscle groups, so even if you only did this once a week, it's still a pretty decent starting point.
