Home workouts vs Gym based workouts

Anyone who reads this blog will know, I'm a huge fan of home workouts, or 'non-gym based workouts'.

Why?

Because with a set of dumbbells, a proper plan, and enough space, there isn't really anything you can't do, so why waste money on a gym. And if your goal is simply to lose fat, increasing the weight of your equipment isn't necessarily required. You could up the intensity for instance, rather than increase the weight of your dumbbells.

There will, however, come a point, when home workouts aren't enough, or your focus shifts from losing fat to getting stronger, or bigger. And for this, a gym, whilst still not 100% required, is pretty advisable.

You could keep buying more kit as you progress (I tried this) but what you will probably find pretty quickly (4 months in my case) is that you will run out of space.

Thats basically it. Home workouts are fine, but there’s only so far that you can go at home.
