Mount Snowdon

The first peak to climb was Mount Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales.

We drove down the day before, and stopped overnight in a bed and breakfast so that we were ready and fresh to set off early the next morning.

The drive was easy. Motorway most of the way, then big A roads the rest of the way, and plenty of stop off points. It took only a few hours (and that was with the rush hour traffic on the M62)

There are several paths up Snowdon, but we chose the path labeled the 'easiest'. The Llanberis path follows the railway up to the top, so it's not that steep of a climb. In fact, it was a pretty easy climb, even close to the top where the fog got thick the path was clear the whole way though. It was only right at the top where the wind picked up and we got a little bit rained on.

We raced to the top, making it in only a couple of hours.. When we reached the 'half way house' we were even doubtful that we were at the right place.

The walk back down however, took a bit of doing.

(Emma is very clumsy)

The drive back, even after the walk, was easy, and we were ready for the next day.
